Altaira for Healthy Work Culture, Wellbeing & Inclusion
Altaira displays, maintains, and celebrates a healthy work culture and inclusiveness in a number of ways. We offer invaluable ongoing support and encouragement for our team, staff and clients equally, regardless of their culture, race, age or gender. We have made a commitment to reconciliation include the acknowledgement on our email signatures and website. We also have a dedicated Indigenous policy.
We participate in cultural celebrations, such as in Harmony Day where we encourage everyone to bring in a plate of food from their culture to share. We also make the time to celebrate other significant milestones together as a team, including birthdays, Christmas and employment anniversaries.
We take the approach that every individual staff member is unique in their capacity to work, as many are juggling multiple commitments. Therefore, we give the flexibility to our staff that they can choose how many hours they would like to work per week, and when. We are also a family friendly culture, and highlight that family always comes first, even when it can be an inconvenience to a work schedule or placement.
An exciting wellbeing initiative that we are implementing is the expansion of our allied health department, where we have appointed a dedicated Allied Health and Wellness Operations Manager, Michael Zoumaras, who is leading the department with a focus on holistic client-centred care and meaningful rehabilitation outcomes. Michael empowers Altaira staff to be highly proficient across different fields of physiotherapy, to assist them to become more well-rounded health professionals and in turn, be able to provide a higher quality service to our clients. With this department growth, we are also expanding our office premises, which will include a new Wellbeing Centre, Training Room, and Break-Out space.
